History & traditions
This shrine honours Vishnu under the name of his devotee Prahlada. Look for the shrine in the upper ghat lanes and ask about Narada Keshava nearby.
The Kashi Khanda associates this Vishnu form with growing devotion. In the wider Vishnu tradition, Prahlada remains devoted to Vishnu even when his father, Hiranyakashipu, forbids it. Prahlad Ghat takes its name from the devotee.

PILGRIMAGE CONTEXT
Keshava and Vishnu
Keshava is a name of Vishnu. In the Kashi Khanda, Vishnu speaks to Agnibindu about forms associated with individual tirthas, beginning with Adi Keshava. Some modern survey entries identify a smaller image in a temple with a different main deity. Ask for the listed image as well as the host temple.
