Mrityunjay is the name of Shiva as the conqueror of death. At Daranagar the Shiva shrine and a sacred well are landmarks in the wider Vriddhakal neighbourhood. In the field survey, the same precinct gives its name to the Asitanga Bhairav stop. The Kashi Khanda also puts Bhishma Keshava west of Vriddhakaleshwar.
